Incontinence

Loss of bladder control is called urinary incontinence. If you have incontinence, you are not alone. Many other people have this problem too. Being incontinent can affect you not only physically, but emotionally and socially as well. That is why you should get help. there are ways to treat incontinence.

If you have been treated for prostate cancer or other cancer related treatments; your incontinence may result from the treatment.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF URINARY INCONTINENCE?
There are three types of incontinence. Each has its own causes and symptoms.

Stress Incontinence
This is caused by weakness of the muscles that surround the urethra. This type of incontinence cause leakage during physical activities and in the early morning. To avoid accidents, visit the bathroom frequently.


Overflow Incontinence
This type of incontinence happens when the bladder is too full. Symptoms of overflow include: taking a long time to urinate, dribbling stream of urine with no force, or urinate small amounts.


Urge Incontinence
This type of incontinence occurs when the bladder contracts too often. This type of incontinence can become embarrasing. If you do not get to a bathroom right away you will wet yourself. You bladder can not hold a normal amount of urine, which causes frequent urination.


IS THERE A WAY TO TREAT URINARY INCONTINENCE?
A stone may be as small as a grain of sand or as large as a golf ball. Many small stones pass naturally. Medium sized stones are often crushed with special equipment. Very large stones may need to be removed using an invasive procedure.
